Match Report: Away loss to Real Sociedad (3-0)
Valencia CF visited Real Sociedad at the Reale Seguros Stadium (Reale Arena) at 6.30 pm kick-off time on Matchday 25 of LaLiga Santander.
Valencia CF were off to a good start to the game with Kevin Gameiro trying his luck two minutes inside the game after getting on the clear but his shot went off target and the Frenchman was flagged up for offside.
Mikel Merino made it 1-0 to Real Sociedad in the 12th minute of the first half. The hosts grew in the game after the goal with Alexander Isak bringing a superb save out of Jaume Doménech over the 15-minute mark.
The half progressed in the same manner with Valencia CF knocking the ball around and the hosts getting on the counter-attack at every opportunity. Ferran Torres had an effort blocked and deflected behind by a defender in the closing minutes.
Ignacio Monreal made it 2-0 to Real Sociedad on the stroke of half-time. Valencia CF trailed Real Sociedad at half-time.
Albert Celades made a half-time substitution bringing on Hugo Guillamón who replaced Eliaquim Mangala in defence and made his first-team debut in LaLiga with the number 35 on the back.
Moments later, Adnan Januzaj made it 3-0 to Real Sociedad just two minutes inside the second half. Danish player Daniel Wass forced Alex Remiro into a fingertip save with a great header but the keeper put it behind for a corner kick.
Valencia CF had a Kevin Gameiro goal disallowed for offside in the build-up on the hour mark in the match. The remainder of the half was played out with no further incidents in the match which ended in a 3-0 defeat.
Valencia CF will welcome Real Betis Balompié on Saturday the 29th of February at 4 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 26 of LaLiga Santander.

Observations: Matchday 25 of LaLiga played at the Reale Arena before 30,000 spectators. The Club paid tribute and imposed the gold and shiny badge on his former player Markel Bergara, who has retired from professional football due to a knee injury.
